Tying My Rawhide Moccasins

I know online there isn't any very good sources on how to tie your moccasins, at least none I could find. So, when my new moccasins came untied, I knew I needed to find a way.

Step 1:
Make sure your laces are completely untied.

Step 2:
Like beginning to tie your shoes, take your left lace and cross it over the right. Now, loop the left lace under the right. Tighten.

Step 3:
Make a loop with your now right lace, making sure to keep holding the bottom of the loop together.

Step 4:
Do the same with your left lace (make a loop and hold on the bottom). You should have two bunny ears now.

Step 5:
Cross the LEFT loop BEHIND your right loop. Keep holding the loops crossed.

Step 6:
Locate the small hold beneath where the loops meet.

Take your now LEFT ear and loop it forward through the small hole.

Step 7:
It will be a bit mixed up at first, but just tighten the loops a bit, and adjust the bottom of the bow a little, and it should turn out like a miniature bow. Like this:

That's it, and I hope I made it simpler. This isn't the best knot(sturdy wise) for moccasins, but it seems a whole lot easier than all those YouTube demonstrations.

HEALTHY Taco Soup

Happy March everyone, sorry I'm a bit late. It feels nice to blog again after all these months. I noticed I've been getting more blog traffic lately, so thanks readers! This is my first post in 2014, so you can tell I am a bit behind. Anyway, I'll get to it.

My family is trying to eat better, so we tried Weight Watchers Simple Start. This soup is perfection.
Believe it or not, this soup is actually healthy, and delicious. My family RAVES about this stuff.

Ingredients:
-1 can reduced sodium black beans
-1 can corn
-1 can reduced sodium kidney beans
-1 can diced tomatoes(fresh if preferred)
-3 cups water
-taco seasoning
-1 lb. lean ground beef

Directions:
First brown the meat in pan. In the meantime, drain all the canned beans and corn in a strainer, and wash them. Add taco seasoning and 1 c. water. I let the meat stay in the pan till most of the water was gone. Now, get out the big boy pot out, because it's time to make some soup. Place two cups of water, your beans, corn, beef, and tomatoes into the pot. Stir and bring to a medium boil, then cover and let simmer for about 5-10 minutes. The recipe below says simmer for 15 minutes, but to me, it seemed fine at a lesser time. I would let cool for a bit, so you don't scorch your mouth.

You can add toppings, based on your preference:
 -cheddar cheese
-tortilla chips
-light sour cream
-fresh salsa
-shredded lettuce

Like I said, great soup and I love it. This soup can be refrigerated and reheated and it still tastes yummy, and that's coming from someone who almost always hates leftovers. I found this recipe online at ourbestbites.com. Enjoy...
