Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

I often get sudden urges to bake on the weekends. I love cookies and we had a gigantic bag of chocolate chips. Why not bake chocolate chip cookies?  Of course, we didn't have brown sugar in our pantry, so I had to compromise.  I searched for the perfect recipe, and, happily, it was found. Without futher introduction, here it is:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 oz. chocolate chips(optional)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/4 cups butter

        Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cream the butter with the sugar and the honey. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour and baking soda. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  3. Place teaspoon sized cookies about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
They were actually pretty good. I added more chocolate chips though. I actually modified the recipe a little bit but I got the idea from allrecipes.com. So here I am enjoying cookies while blogging. Try it!
